TO MAJOR GENERAL GRUDI ANGELOV
COMMANDANT OF “G.S. RAKOVSKI ” NATIONAL DEFENSE COLLEGE
AND PRESIDENT OF THE EDITORIAL STAFF
OF “BULGARIAN MILITARY THOUGHT”
I am pleased with the opportunity to congratulate you on yet another significant initiative, not only for the Bulgarian Armed Forces, but for the public in general. The resurrection of “Bulgarian Military Thought” magazine has already become news. Nowadays, anything that keeps national consciousness alive deserves admiration. Bulgarian Military Thought magazine has proven in the past that it can carry the torch in this respect. I am convinced that after a long period of interruption, it will continue to perform its patriotic mission.
Today, every forum that provides the opportunity to raise the issues of national security, defense and the armed forces is necessary for the Bulgarian people. Many publications have been forgotten throughout the years, few have been resurrected. In this regard, it is realistic to expect that “Bulgarian Military Thought” magazine should become a bridge between the glorious times of the development of our armed forces. We will be glad if some of the materials that our ancestors used to read, about the regiments and divisions, the officers, the NCOs and the soldiers during the wars for our national unification, return on its pages.
I express our readiness to actively assist on the pages of the magazine, to raise and develop the most up-to-date issues of the defense policy, both in Bulgaria, and abroad, with all our experience, strengths and abilities. Such materials might prove valuable, in view of the ever-evolving security environment and the changing role of the armed forces. They would help state, political and military leadership in the preparation of various documents.
By welcoming once again this important step for the development of the Bulgarian military thought, I wish you success among the readers!
