FORUM OF THE INQUISITIVE SCIENTIFIC THOUGHT

Dear readers of the revised Bulgarian Military Thought magazine,

For more than 100 years Georgi Stoykov Rakovski National Defence College has been the pillar of military training and a guardian of the traditions in this field of academic studies. But what are traditions without continuity! Today we are witnessing the revival of Bulgarian Military Thought magazine issued from 1934 to 1943.

In its century-old history, the National Defense College has made a significant contribution to the formation of Bulgarian officers’ corps and military elite as well as to the education of generations of Bulgarians in the spirit of national values and European principles. Today we are not just observers but we are also actively involved in the formation and implementation of new aspects of defense and security as a dependable guarantor of national interests. The College has a reputation of a reliable partner in researching the various security aspects on a regional and global scale. I believe that, through this forum, the research work will receive even greater public awareness.

But the military alma mater is not only an exclusive scientific-educational institution. As its graduate, I am proud to note that it is also an educational establishment of patriotism. It is natural to preserve the flame of pride and the love to the country by virtue of keeping its symbols alive. To this effect, the rebirth of the magazine as a platform of the seeking scientific thought is also a permanent symbol.

I look forward to seeing on the pages of the new online magazine important topics in the field of national security, defense and military art, the achievements and results of fundamental and applied research. It is my belief that the magazine will present more comprehensive aspects on contemporary issues and achievements of military education and military science as well as topical issues and information on the public life in Bulgaria inextricably bound up with intergenerational continuity.

This is yet another proof and recognition of the College achievements and contribution to national and international research.

Past is a valuable teacher. Bulgarian Military Thought Magazine inspires the connection between generations through which they share their thoughts and ideas, combine experience with youth, and preserve traditions in the field of military education and science.

Good luck to Bulgarian Military Thought Magazine.
